Skoda Kodiaq Review

In this review, we will examine the Kodiaq model produced by the Czech Republic based automaker Skoda. As with all our reviews, we will evaluate this model under three main headings. These titles are The Features of the Skoda Kodiaq, The Fuel Consumption of the Skoda Kodiaq, and Does It Suit You? Before starting the review, let's take a brief look at the history of the Kodiaq. Kodiaq was first introduced to the public at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and was named as "VisionS" before it has introduced. Kodiaq, which has gained many awards from the day of its launch and made its impact in the automotive world, once again showed how sensible it was for Skoda with these awards.

The Features of the Skoda Kodiaq

When we look at the exterior design of Kodiaq, we see that Skoda uses the same design features applied in all new-generation models in Kodiaq. This situation may be perceived by many as laziness. However, Skoda's newly created design concept has received positive reactions. Therefore, no one can blame Skoda for applying an already successful design feature for their cars. The concept blends sharp lines with modern design details in general and creates a very stylish design. Kodiaq seems to have easily adapted to this concept as an SUV. For most people, the car has one of the most remarkable designs among the new generation SUVs. This design is built on the modular MQB platform that belongs to the Volkswagen Group. The platform is one of the best in its segment and forms the basis for many SUVs such as VW Tiguan and Seat Tarraco. When looking inside, it is possible to see the traces of VW Group at some points. However, we must say that the Skoda brand adds a different atmosphere inside. Wooden-look console details, simple but useful control mechanisms, and digital display screens are among the most important factors that add value to the cabin. In addition to these details, the thin green LED strips on the door panels create an intimate atmosphere as ambient lighting. Kodiaq, whose body structure designed longer than most SUV models, uses this advantage effectively in terms of cabin width. Although it has a very spacious cabin area for the passengers, this cabin area can also convert into a large luggage area. Thus, the problem of space solved for large families.

The Fuel Consumption of the Skoda Kodiaq

Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Skoda Kodiaq. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Skoda Kodiaq has got three standard engine varieties such as 1.4 TSI, 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TSI. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. We can start with the most economical one which is 2.0 TDI SCR DSG. It is a four cylindered engine structure with a 1968 cm3 size. It is using a Diesel feed fuel system so we can say that it is a Diesel type engine. It can produce 150 HP and 3500 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 2.0 TDI has got a 5,7lt/100km (which refers to 49 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption performance in Urban usage. However, this fuel consumption stat decreasing to 4,5lt/100km (which refers to 63 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as Highways or Long-Distance Trip. When we combine these two fuel consumption rate, we get a 4,9lt/100km (which refers to 58 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption data. Now we will focus on the most powerful engine, which is 2.0 TDI SCR 4WD. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1968 cm3 size. It is a diesel type engine which produces 190 Horsepower and 3500 RPM Torque. 2.0 TDI has got a 6,6lt/100km (which refers to 43 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption in Urban usage. On the other hand, this fuel economy rate decreasing to 5,3lt/100km (which refers to 53 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage. When we gather these two fuel consumption performance data, we get a 5,7lt/100km (which refers to 49 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption.

Does It Suit You?

Skoda Kodiaq is one of the brightest cars in the SUV segment. It is a car worth your money with its technology and ideal fuel economy. While its large interior volume provides you a comfortable travel, it will also allow you to travel comfortably if you have a large family.
