Volvo XC90 Review

In this review, we are going to take a closer look at the Volvo XC90. We will examine the details about the Volvo XC90 under three main categories such as; The Features of the Volvo XC90, The Fuel Consumption of the Volvo XC90 and Does It Suit You? These categories prepared for explaining the vehicle from any perspective. Before beginning the review, I would like to share some general information about the history of the Volvo XC90. It is a Mid-Size Luxury Crossover SUV which is manufacturing by the Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo Cars. First produced concept unveiled at the 2002 North American International Auto Show. It has been designed by the Doug Frasher. The XC90 has a two-generation history. The original first generation was built on Volvo's P2 Platform. However, things changed a bit in the second generation. Volvo has decided to use a new platform called SPA (Scalable Product Architecture) for the production of XC90. Thus, since 2014, the SPA Platform has been used in the production of XC90.

The Features of the Volvo XC90

In this part of the review, we are going to focus on the exterior design of the Volvo XC90. First of all, the most striking feature of the new generation XC90 is the new SPA platform. Thanks to this platform, XC90 has a very strong and light body structure compared to other SUVs. Compared to previous generations, the new generation XC90 is much wider and larger. Furthermore, thanks to the new suspension system, the vehicle is much lower. In addition, the XC90 has a very futuristic exterior design. The XC90's streamlined body line, front and rear headlight design and fine workmanship makes it quite impressive. Now, let's take a look into the Volvo XC90's interior design. When we look at the cabin of the XC90, the most important detail is the perfect harmony of each part. From the smallest to the largest, all the pieces are placed so well that nothing breaks the harmony. In addition to this harmony, the wood details used in the cabin improve the quality of the vehicle while at the same time providing a very relaxing atmosphere for the driver. In addition, the XC90 has one of the widest cabin designs in its class. Thus, people in the vehicle can travel comfortably and spaciously. Finally, let's focus on the technological features of the Volvo XC90. First of all, the Sensus Connect feature is one of the most important technological features of the XC90. Thanks to its 9-inch touch screen, you can reach everything you need by using the infotainment system without distractions. It is also a smart infotainment system. It can even make an appointment for you when your XC90’s service time has come. The XC90 has many features like Volvo On Call and Bluetooth to maximize your comfort. However, your safety is as important as your comfort. Therefore, the Intellisafe system always protects you. This system includes Electronic Stability Control, Rear Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information System and many other security software. All these features make the XC90 a very safe vehicle.

The Fuel Consumption of the Volvo XC90

Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Volvo XC90. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. That’s why we are using this distinction method to make things easier for you. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as; The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Volvo XC90 has got seven standard engine varieties such as; 2.0 D5, 2.0 T5, 2.0 T6, 2.0 T8, 2.0 T8 Hybrid, 2.0D D4 and 2.0D D5. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. We can start with the most economical one which is; 2.0 T8. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1969 cm3 size. It is using a Hybrid type inner structure, so we can say that it is a Hybrid type engine. It can produce 392 HP and 5700 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 2.0 T8 has got a 2,0lt/100km (which refers to 141 MPG in the UK) average MPG performance. However, the estimated test consumption is 3,1 lt/100km (which refers to 91 MPG in the UK). Now we will focus on the most powerful engine, which is; 2.0 T8 Hybrid AWD Geartronic. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1969 cm3 size. It is a hybrid type engine which produces 401 Horsepower and 640 NM Torque. 2.0 T8 Hybrid has got a 2,1lt/100km (which refers to 134 MPG in the UK) combined fuel consumption. On the other hand, the estimated test consumption is 3,3 lt/100km (which refers to 86 MPG in the UK).

Does It Suit You?

To sum up, the Volvo XC90 really deserves its price. Its design features are unique. At the same time, its technological features and interior design will make many cars jealous. In addition, it is very efficient in terms of fuel consumption. What else can I say! Buy one without wasting time!
