Before beginning the review, I would like to share some general information about the history of Subaru Impreza as an introduction. Impreza is a Compact Class Car that has been manufacturing since the early 90’s by Japanese automobile manufacturer Subaru. It was a replacement project for the old Leone model. Also, the engine generation updated with this new model. Over the years Impreza had five different generations. Each generation had a unique feature for popularity. It was the main weapon of Subaru for the rivalry with Mitsubishi Lancer.

The Features of the Subaru Impreza

In this part of the review, we are going to talk about some of the features of Subaru Impreza. We can start with the exterior design features of the Impreza. When we focus on the chronological past of the Impreza, each generation had different and unique design features with little details on it. However, the current generation might be the most modern one! Unlike the ancestors, the current generation reflecting a more aggressive and sportive design. The sharp side and detail lines on the body creates an aggressive characteristic for the Impreza. In addition to that, minimalistic front design and stylish grille details present an elegant look. Furthermore, the strong body structure providing additional protection to the driver and the passengers. It is officially approved by Euro NCAP with a top safety mark. When we move on to the interior design, simple but sophisticated cabin design welcomes us. It looks like each display screen and every single detail placed perfectly for the driver and the passengers. Colour harmony perfectly supported with correct color choices. It makes you feel like you're in a luxury car. When all these design features are combined with technological details, a high-quality interior design emerges. When we take a closer look at the technological features, Subaru Eyesight Technology takes the attention. It is a multifunctional safety assistance program designed for the maximum protection efficiency of driver and passenger. This security system achieved the highest score in the preventive safety performance assessment. Also, Android Auto and Apple Car Play infotainment systems are available for the different trims. These infotainment systems might be useful for long road trips or traffic jams.

The Fuel Consumption of the Subaru Impreza

Now, we are focusing on the fuel consumption of the Subaru Impreza. We are going to make an examination of engine types for a proper fuel consumption analysis. We generally use two main categories for an efficient analysis such as; The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. However, the present generation Impreza’s most commonly used engine type is 1.6i Lineartronic. So, we are going to focus on one engine with details. It has got a four cylindered inner engine structure with an automatic gearbox system which is common nowadays. It is 1600 cm3 sized. 1.6i using a petrol-based fuel system. So, it is a petrol engine. At the same time, this engine is capable of producing 114 horsepower and is 6200 RPM torque. These statistics prove that the engine shows an effective performance. According to the official factory data, 1.6i has got an 8.0lt/100km (which refers to 35 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption performance in Urban usage. However, this MPG Performance decreasing to 5.0lt/100km (which refers to 56 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as; Highways and Long Distance Trip. When we combine these two factory data, we get a 6.0lt/100km (which refers to 47 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption rate.
