La lista de coches de alto consumo enumera todos los nuevos modelos de acuerdo con el mayor consumo de combustible. A estos los llamamos los peores coches eficientes. Pero primero debemos saber qué hace que un coche consuma más combustible que otros.

Comenzando por el tamaño y el poder del motor, los vehículos de alto desempeño están relacionados con un alto consumo de combustible. Para producir más  poder, el motor necesita aspirar más combustible y aire. En la lista, es fácil descubrir que los vehículos deportivos son los que más consumen. Segundo, el peso del vehículo influye en un consumo mayor de combustible.Los SUV pesados con motores de gasolina son los más monstruosos, hechos para consumir una gran cantidad de combustible.

Entonces, ¿por qué la gente prefiere los coches de alto consumo?. Solo hay una posible explicación y es por su desempeño. Nadie prefiere un coche familiar que tenga kilometraje bajo. “Un coche de bajo kilometraje” no siempre es de alto desempeño. En ocasiones, los coches a los que no se les ha hecho mantenimiento en mucho tiempo, consumen más combustible de lo que deberían. Eso no termina dando mayor desempeño, solo causa mayores emisiones de CO2.

«
