Select the motor type for the year.

In this review, we are going to take a closer look at the Ford S-Max. We will examine the details about the Ford S-Max under three main categories such as; The Features of the Ford S-Max, The Fuel Consumption of the Ford S-Max and Does It Suit You? These categories prepared for explaining the vehicle from any perspective. Before beginning the review, I would like to share some general information about the history of the Ford S-Max. It is a Large MPV (Multi-Purpose Vehicle) which has been producing by the German automobile manufacturer Ford Europe. The model has a two generation history. 2006 Geneva Motor Show hosted an important event when the Ford Europe decided to release the S-Max model as the future of MPV Class. It was exclusively designed and produced for the European automotive market. However, Ford also wanted to sell S-Max in the Japanese automotive market. For most of the authorities and media resources, Ford S-Max was the cheapest and the most qualified vehicle. S-Max managed to win the 2007 European Car of the Year reward and proved his quality undisputedly.

The Features of the Ford S-Max

In this part of the review, we are going to focus on the features of the Ford S-Max. We can start with the exterior design of the Ford S-Max. The current generation of the Ford S-Max introduced at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. When we take a look at the first generation S-Max, we were able to see the traces of the kinetic design features which have been using by the Ford Motor Company on several Ford models. This design style includes features such as; large wheel arches, angular headlights, and twin trapezoidal grilles. However, the current generation looks slightly modified by the designers. Second generation S-Max has designed by Claudio Messale and built on the Ford CD4 platform. It is differing from the old generation on some points. For example, the grille design of the new generation looks larger and flashier than the old one. In addition to that, S-Max is an MPV Class vehicle. That means it needs to be spacious and capable of heavy loading. S-Max provides it with a large body design. On the other hand, this large body design doesn't mean that it looks ugly. The charismatic details on the body make S-Max an attractive and trendy vehicle. Now, we are moving on to the interior design of the Ford S-Max. When we get into the S-Max's cabin, a well-located futuristic design welcomes us! Interior design reflecting pure Ford quality. Every detail in the cabin provides a unique harmony between parts. The material used in the cabinet is highly qualified and durable. The center console and the control mechanisms on it are also very practical. Finally, we are going to talk about the technological features of the Ford S-Max. Ford S-Max is equipped with many technological systems to guarantee your safety and comfort. To give an example to the systems placed for your comfort; Hill Start Assist, Automatic Parking System, Electric Assisted Steering System, and 180 Degree Front View Camera are just a few of these features. Also, Ford Dynamic LED Technology, Blind Spot Warning System, Cross-Traffic Warning System, and SYNC3 Emergency System work smoothly for your safety.

The Fuel Consumption of the Ford S-Max

Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Ford S-Max. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. That’s why we are using this distinction method to make things easier for you. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as; The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Ford S-Max has got four standard engine varieties such as; 1.5, 2.0, 2.0 EcoBlue and 2.0 TDCi. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. We can start with the most economical one which is; 2.0 EcoBlue. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1997 cm3 size. It is using a Diesel feed fuel system so we can say that it is a Diesel type engine. It can produce 180 HP and 3500 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 2.0 EcoBlue has got a 6,0lt/100km (which refers to 47 MPG in the UK) MPG Performance in Urban usage. However, this fuel consumption rate decreasing to 4,0lt/100km (which refers to 71 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as; Highways or Long Distance Trip. When we combine these two MPG Datas we get a 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 56 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption data. Now we will focus on the most powerful engine, which is; 2.0 EcoBlue Bi-Turbo. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1997 cm3 size. It is a Diesel Type Engine which produces 240 Horsepower and 3750 RPM Torque. 2.0 Bi-Turbo has got a 7,0lt/100km (which refers to 40 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption in Urban usage. On the other hand, this MPG rate decreasing to 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 56 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage. When we gather these two fuel consumption data, we get a 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 56 MPG in the UK) average MPG rate.

Does It Suit You?

To sum up, Ford S-Max is an ideal vehicle for your family and you. In addition to being one of the best MPVs in the market, it is an extremely attractive vehicle with its technological, aesthetic and technical features.
