Select the motor type for the year.

In this review, we are going to take a closer look at the Volkswagen Golf. We will examine the details about the Volkswagen Golf under three main categories such as; The Features of the Volkswagen Golf, The Fuel Consumption of the Volkswagen Golf and Does It Suit You? These categories prepared for explaining the vehicle from any perspective. Before beginning the review, I would like to share some general information about the history of the Volkswagen Golf. It is a Compact Car that has been producing by the German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen. The Volkswagen Golf has an eight-generation long history. Volkswagen Golf was first produced in the early 70s. It has become a very popular model all over Germany. It was a great success in the period when it was released. While the new generation is still being produced today, it continues to win many awards. For example; The "Car of the Year" awards won in 2009 and 2013 were very important for the model to prove itself.

The Features of the Volkswagen Golf

In this part of the review, we are going to focus on the features of the Volkswagen Golf. We can start with the exterior design of the Volkswagen Golf. When we take a closer look at the design of the new generation Golf, we can immediately see that it is quite different from the previous generations. The car has built on the updated version of Volkswagen's MQB platform. However, to say in a language we can easily understand, the main reason for this difference is the vehicle's modified front part. Volkswagen, which preferred a larger grille design in previous Golf models, has designed a very minimalist and thin grille in the new generation. Also, the headlight design is much more aesthetic and detailed compared to previous generations. Although some details have changed on the body parts, Volkswagen does not seem to have made many radical changes in the successful Golf design. Now, we are moving on to the interior design of the Volkswagen Golf. As soon as you enter the Golf, Volkswagen manages to please you with its design details. The quality and usage of the materials used in all Volkswagen models we have seen always manages to impress us. Golf's interior design is one of these beautiful designs. The atmosphere created in the vehicle is so relaxing and fresh that you can forget that you are in a car. Although the aesthetic details are satisfactory, the most striking part of the cabin is probably the technological details. The first thing that attracts our attention is the Active Info Display system. You can easily access all the data related to your car through the TFT LCD screen. You can personalize your screen with five different information screens. Besides, the Discover Pro infotainment system in the center console allows you to meet all your needs without touching thanks to the Gesture Control feature. Finally, we are going to talk about the technological features of the Volkswagen Golf. Golf integrates the latest point of today's technology quite well into its design. In addition to the technological details I just mentioned, it contains extremely important technologies in terms of user comfort and safety. Many safety software such as Trafic Jam Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, and Pre-Collision Preventer provide a much more comfortable and safe driving experience.

The Fuel Consumption of the Volkswagen Golf

Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Volkswagen Golf. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. That’s why we are using this distinction method to make things easier for you. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as; The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Volkswagen Golf has got five standard engine varieties such as; 1.0 TSI, 1.4 TGI, 1.4 TSI, 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. We can start with the most economical one which is; 1.4 TGI BlueMotion. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1395 cm3 size. It is using an LPG/CNG feed fuel system so we can say that it is a LPG/CNG type engine. It can produce 110 HP and 4800 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 1.4 TGI has got a 4,4lt/100km (which refers to 64 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption data in Urban usage. However, this fuel consumption rate decreasing to 3,1lt/100km (which refers to 91 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as; Highways or Long Distance Trip. When we combine these two fuel consumptions data, we get a 3,5lt/100km (which refers to 81 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption rate. Now we will focus on the most powerful engine, which is; 2.0 TDI. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1968 cm3 size. It is a Diesel Type Engine which produces 150 Horsepower and 3500 RPM Torque. 2.0 TDI has got a 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 56 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption in Urban usage. On the other hand, this MPG data decreasing to 3,7lt/100km (which refers to 76 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage. When we gather these two MPG Rate, we get a 4,2lt/100km (which refers to 67 MPG in the UK) average MPG data.

Does It Suit You?

To sum up, the next-generation Volkswagen Golf seems to heat the market. Its refreshed design, high performance, low fuel consumption, and technological advantages make Golf a very attractive car. Although its price is a bit higher than most cars in its class, you can be sure it will be worth it.
