Select the motor type for the year.

This review’s guest is one of the most charismatic cars in Toyota brand’s history. We are going to talk about the Toyota GT86! We will examine the Toyota GT86 by classifying vehicle details, under three main categories such as; The Features of the Toyota GT86The Fuel Consumption of the Toyota GT86 and Does It Suit You? Before starting the review phase, I would love to share some general information about the history of the Toyota GT86. It has got a really interesting development phase. GT86 developed by Toyota and Subaru. However, it is manufactured in Subaru factories and also sold as Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86. We can say that it has got an identical twin under the Subaru brand. It is a fastback coupe that is inspired by the earlier Toyota project AE86. Production started in 2012 and continues to be manufacturing.

The Features of the Toyota GT86

In this part of the review, we are going to focus on the features of the Toyota GT86. It is firstly announced at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show. The car has a very impressive exterior design. Designers Tetsuya Tada and Kenji Kido seem to have done a pretty successful job. One of the vehicle's design objectives is to achieve maximum performance from the vehicle. The way in which the vehicle's technical infrastructure is established and its external design features prove this. In addition, the vehicle is quite flexible on the road. So, the grip is constantly at the highest level. Moreover, the components used in the construction of the vehicle are very light. In this way, we can say that the GT86 is a very low fuel consumption vehicle. Finally, the details of many parts on the vehicle refer to the number 86, which is part of the vehicle's name. For example; the engine bore and stroke is 86mm x 86mm. Now, we can move on to the interior design. I guess we can say that the simplest part of the car is the interior design. The car does not have very high standards in this regard, but the GT86 is a sports car and it is not surprising to focus on performance rather than luxury. However, many essential features, such as the touch screen navigation, are available in the car.

The Fuel Consumption of the Toyota GT86

Finally, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Toyota GT86. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel economy analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. That’s why we are using distinction method to make things easier for you. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as; The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. However, Toyota GT86’s most commonly used engine type is 2.0. So, we are going to analyze this engine type with the useful details. 2.0 has got a four cylindered inner engine structure with a 1998 cm3 size. It is using a petrol based fuel injection system. So, we can say that it is a petrol type engine. This engine is capable of producing 200 horsepower and a torque of 7000 RPM. According to the official Toyota factory data, 2.0 has got a 12,0lt/100km (which refers to 24 MPG in the UK) MPG Performance in Urban usage. However, this fuel consumption rate decreasing to 6,0lt/100km (which refers to 47 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as; Highways or Long Distance Trip. When we combine these two MPG Rate, we get an 8,0lt/100km (which refers to 35 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption.

Does It Suit You?

First of all, I must say that the GT86 is not an economical vehicle compared to a standard vehicle. However, it has a very efficient fuel consumption rate among sports cars. It's affordable considering the performance you get from the vehicle. If you feel like a performance-driven racer, the pleasure you will get while driving this car is priceless. On the other hand, if you are a parent with small children, we do not recommend this car to you. The choice is yours!
