Hyundai i20 Review
In this review, we are going to take a closer look at the Hyundai i20. We will examine the details about the Hyundai i20 under three main categories such as The Features of the Hyundai i20, The Fuel Consumption of the Hyundai i20 and Basic Characteristics of Hyundai i20. These categories prepared for explaining the vehicle from any perspective. Before beginning the review, I would like to share some general information about the history of the Hyundai i20. The i20 is a B Segment (Supermini) car that has been produced by South Korea-based automaker Hyundai since 2008. The main development purpose of the i20 project is Hyundai's desire to withdraw from the market, another model Getz, to be replaced by a much fresher and new model. Despite this, Getz's withdrawal was exactly three years after the i20 was launched. The car has a three-generation history and the last generation was launched in 2020.
The Features of the Hyundai i20
In this part of the review, we are going to focus on the features of the Hyundai i20. We can start with the exterior design of the Hyundai i20. Looking at the new generation Hyundai i20, we can say that there are serious changes in the body design. The i20, which started its way in the automotive industry as a Supermini vehicle, now has a much larger and wider body structure. The trunk, which has grown compared to previous generations, is also much lower. This situation seems to have made the car look much more powerful and sporty. The car, which we can see details from the Sensuous Sportiness trend developed by Hyundai in recent years, has much harder and sharper body lines. This situation has made the design of the car much more modern while making it very stylish. Now, we are moving on to the interior design of the Hyundai i20. When we look at the interior design, the first thing that catches our attention is the eye-catching ambient lighting. The lighting, which looks very attractive with its ice blue colour, makes the atmosphere of the cabin very impressive. In addition, the fact that dark tones are the predominant colour in the cabin is also very harmonious. Even though simplicity and order prevail in the interior design of the i20, it does not neglect to benefit from all the possibilities of technology. The large multimedia screen in the centre console meets all the social needs of the driver and passengers, while the digital instrument panel in front of the driver ensures that the driver's main focus is the road. The design of the steering wheel is also quite interesting. Enhancing a sporty design with aesthetic details, Hyundai design team seems to have done a very good job.
The Fuel Consumption of the Hyundai i20
Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Hyundai i20. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. That is why we are using this distinction method to make things easier for you. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Hyundai i20 has got two standard engine varieties such as 1.0 and 1.2. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. However, the both most economical and most powerful engine among i20 engine varieties is 1.0 T-GDI. So, let’s take a closer look to the 1.0 T-GDI. It has got a three cylindered engine structure with a 998 cm3 size. It is using a Petrol feed fuel system so we can say that it is a Petrol type engine. It can produce 120 HP and 6000 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 1.0 T-GDI has got a 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 64 MPG in the UK) mpg performance in Urban usage. However, this fuel consumption rate decreasing to 4,0lt/100km (which refers to 76 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as Highways or Long-Distance Trip. When we combine these mpg data, we get a 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 71 MPG in the UK) average mpg performance.
