Dacia Duster Review

In this review, we are going to take a closer look at the Dacia Duster. We will examine the details about the Dacia Duster under three main categories such as; The Features of the Dacia Duster, The Fuel Consumption of the Dacia Duster and Does It Suit You? These categories prepared for explaining the vehicle from any perspective. Before beginning the review, I would like to share some general information about the history of the Dacia Duster. It is a Compact SUV that has been producing by the French automobile manufacturer Renault and its Romanian subsidiary Dacia. Duster officially launched in 2009. Although the model has different names in many different regions due to its partnership with Renault and Dacia, it is generally known as Dacia Duster. Although it appealed to certain audiences in its first period, it proved its success with increasing sales rates over time.

The Features of the Dacia Duster

In this part of the review, we are going to focus on the features of the Dacia Duster. We can start with the exterior design of the Dacia Duster. Unlike most of the SUV models on the market, Duster has a catchy design. It seems that a rather simple and functional body design has been preferred instead of overly decorated and extravagant design details. While the B0 platform forms the basis of the design, the parts on the body look simple and useful rather than unnecessarily glamorous. The grille design on the front of the vehicle is perhaps the most characteristic part of Duster. This design has renewed every generation. Thus, it adds dynamism to the vehicle. Now, we are moving on to the interior design of the Dacia Duster. The interior design of the vehicle has been severely criticized by the public. The main reason for the criticism is that the cabin is too dark and the black plastic materials dominate the design, especially in the lower trim Dusters. The control panels and material used in the rest of the cabin are far below compared to the luxury segment vehicles of today. On the other hand, the infotainment screen on the center console makes the cabin little bit more modernistic. However, considering the features that the driver has, it is quite sufficient compared to a reasonably priced vehicle. Finally, we are going to talk about the technological features of the Dacia Duster. Despite its cheap price, Dacia Duster manages to be an attractive vehicle with its quality technological features. Features like; electric-power steering, a MultiView camera system with four cameras, a blind-spot warning system, automatic climate control, keyless entry and ignition system, and daytime running lights providing comfort and safety the same time.

The Fuel Consumption of the Dacia Duster

Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Dacia Duster. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. That’s why we are using this distinction method to make things easier for you. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as; The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Dacia Duster has got two standard engine varieties such as; 1.5 dCi and 1.6. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. We can start with the most economical one which is; 1.5 Blue dCi 2WD. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1461 cm3 size. It is using a Diesel feed fuel system so we can say that it is a Diesel type engine. It can produce 115 HP and 3750 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 1.5 dCi has got a 4,0lt/100km (which refers to 71 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption rate in Urban usage. However, this MPG Rate decreasing to 4,0lt/100km (which refers to 71 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as; Highways or Long Distance Trip. When we combine these two fuel consumptions data, we get a 4,0lt/100km (which refers to 71 MPG in the UK) average MPG rate. Now we will focus on the most powerful engine, which is; 1.6 SCe 4WD. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1598 cm3 size. It is a Petrol Type Engine which produces 115 Horsepower and 5500 RPM Torque. 1.6 has got an 8,0lt/100km (which refers to 35 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption in Urban usage. On the other hand, this fuel consumption data decreasing to 6,0lt/100km (which refers to 47 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage. When we gather these two MPG data, we get a 6,0lt/100km (which refers to 47 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption.

Does It Suit You?

To sum up, Dacia Duster is one of the best vehicles in its class in terms of price and performance. It is very equipped and extremely useful with its features. It is also very efficient in fuel consumption. Although it cannot satisfy you with all its details, it is a vehicle that will deserve the money you spend.
