Audi > A8 WLTP, MPG, Fuel consumption

Select the motor type for the year.

In this review, we are going to take a closer look at the Audi A8. We will examine the details about the Audi A8 under three main categories such as The Features of the Audi A8, The Fuel Consumption of the Audi A8 and Basic Characteristics of Audi A8. These categories prepared for explaining the vehicle from any perspective. Before beginning the review, I would like to share some general information about the history of the Audi A8. The A8 is a car in the full-size luxury car class and produced by the German automobile manufacturer Audi within the Volkswagen Group. The car first appeared at the 1994 Geneva Motor Show in the early '90s and is one of the oldest cars of Audi's A-series. The A8 model was produced with the plan to replace the Audi V8 model and developed over the years and became one of the most important models of the Audi brand. One of the most important features of the A8, which lived in its four-generation history, was that it was the first car with aluminium chassis to be sold as mass production.

The Features of the Audi A8

In this part of the review, we are going to focus on the features of the Audi A8. We can start with the exterior design of the Audi A8. When we look at the overall design of the car, we can see that the new generation A8 is inspired by the Audi Prologue concept. Introduced to the public at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show by Audi, the concept series inspired the A8 in many ways. The body structure of the Audi A8, which is much wider and longer than the previous generations, also stands out as an extremely attractive option among top-class vehicles thanks to its chrome details and noble stance. A8 has two different body types as "Standard" and "L". It is also used as an official vehicle by presidents and ministers in most countries due to its classy appearance and the level of luxury it offers to its users. Now, we are moving on to the interior design of the Audi A8. There is only one thing that can be said about the interior design of the Audi A8; pure luxury! It is a fact that the quality standard of the Audi brand is reflected in every car. However, the features and atmosphere used in the A8 model have a completely different level. First of all, the number of manual control mechanisms in the car is so low that the cabin looks like a space shuttle cockpit. You can access most of the controls from the two giant touch panels placed in the centre console. These panels can be used as both a multimedia screen and a control screen. While various details such as ambient lighting make you feel the difference in the atmosphere of the car, optional wood or metal details look extremely unique in terms of aesthetics. The design team, which also takes into account the comfort of the driver, provides the driver with maximum focus with the digital instrument panel while bringing the driving pleasure to the top with its elegant and comfortable steering wheel design.

The Fuel Consumption of the Audi A8

Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Audi A8. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. That is why we are using this distinction method to make things easier for you. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Audi A8 has got two standard engine varieties such as 3.0 TDI and 3.0 TFSI. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. We can start with the most economical one which is 3.0 TDI (50 TDI). It has got a six cylindered engine structure with a 2967 cm3 size. It is using a Diesel feed fuel system so we can say that it is a Diesel type engine. It can produce 286 HP and 3750 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 3.0 TDI has got a 6,0lt/100km (which refers to 47 MPG in the UK) mpg performance in Urban usage. However, this mpg rate decreasing to 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 56 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as Highways or Long-Distance Trip. When we combine these fuel consumption data, we get a 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 56 MPG in the UK) average mpg performance. Now we will focus on the most powerful engine, which is 3.0 TFSI (55 TFSI). It has got a six cylindered engine structure with a 2995 cm3 size. It is a Petrol Type Engine which produces 340 Horsepower and 5000 RPM Torque. 3.0 TFSI has got a 11,0lt/100km (which refers to 26 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption in Urban usage. On the other hand, this fuel consumption rate decreasing to 6,0lt/100km (which refers to 47 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage. When we gather these mpg data, we get an 8,0lt/100km (which refers to 35 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption data.
