Alfa Romeo Giulietta Review

In this review, we will take a closer look at the Giulietta model produced by the Alfa Romeo brand, one of the oldest and most famous car manufacturers in Italy. As with all our reviews, we will evaluate this model under three main headings. These titles are The Features of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, The Fuel Consumption of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, and Does It Suit You? Before starting the review, let's take a brief look at the history of the Giulietta. Giulietta is a C-Segment car, also known as Type 940. The automobile, which first introduced to the public at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, started its production earlier that year. The car was created by Alfa Romeo to replace its predecessor, Alfa Romeo 147, and all its parts assembled in Italy.

The Features of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta

When we look at the exterior design of the car, we see a very fluid and aesthetic concept. This is nothing new. The Alfa Romeo brand has always been a manufacturer that values aesthetics. However, the important point is that Giulietta's hatchback chassis is one example of how cars can look sportier without sacrificing the aesthetic look. The design was created by Lorenzo Ramaciotti, while the car was built on Fiat's C-Platform. The body of Giulietta has a cambered structure and manages to increase its sporty performance with aerodynamic lines on the body panels. This is a very prominent feature for drivers who pay special attention to dynamism in their car. The iconic Alfa Romeo triangle grille design on the front also exists in the new generation. Also, the LED taillights on the back look very stylish in their minimalist form. When you move on to the cabin design, what you see may make you happy or disappointed according to the level of luxury you expect from a car. It seems that Giulietta gave importance to practicality and ease of use instead of an unnecessary luxury in the cabin. The primarily black colour has preferred on the floor and cabin panels of Giulietta. Although this preference seems to be laziness for most people, it contributes to the sporty spirit of the car. At the same time, Alfa Romeo badges on the headrests add a different atmosphere to the car's interior design. Most innovations, such as the digital instrument panel and touch centre console, are not found in Giulietta. However, the touchscreen multimedia screen and driver-oriented console design seem to be enough to close this gap. Finally, various features such as Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Dynamic Steering Torque and Alpha Active Steering make Alfa Romeo Giuletta a very safe and comfortable car.

The Fuel Consumption of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta

Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Alfa Romeo Giulietta has got four standard engine varieties such as 1.4 TB, 1.6 JTDM, 1.8 and 2.0 JTDM. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. We can start with the most economical one which is 1.6 JTDM. It is a four cylindered engine structure with a 1598 cm3 size. It is using a Diesel feed fuel system so we can say that it is a Diesel type engine. It can produce 120 HP and 3750 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 1.6 JTDM has got a 4,9lt/100km (which refers to 58 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption rate in Urban usage. However, this fuel consumption performance decreasing to 3,3lt/100km (which refers to 85 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as Highways or Long-Distance Trip. When we combine these two fuel consumption stats, we get a 3,9lt/100km (which refers to 72 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption rate. Now we will focus on the most powerful engine, which is 1.8. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1742 cm3 size. It is a petrol type engine which produces 240 Horsepower and 5750 RPM Torque. 1.8 has got a 9,5lt/100km (which refers to 30 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption in Urban usage. On the other hand, this fuel economy rate decreasing to 5,2lt/100km (which refers to 54 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage. When we gather these two fuel consumption performance data, we get a 6,8lt/100km (which refers to 41 MPG in the UK) average fuel economy.

Does It Suit You?

Some confidence problems may come to mind when it comes to Alfa Romeo. However, you do not need to feel the slightest suspicion when you look closely at the new generation Alfa Romeo. The quality of the parts used and the features of Giulietta will satisfy you. However, the only disadvantage is that the car may have some luggage problems for large families. Because the general structure of the car is very compact. Finally, the performance of this compact car is extremely impressive and at the same time economical.
