In this review, we are going to take a closer look at the Opel Insignia. We will examine the details about the Opel Insignia under three main categories such as The Features of the Opel Insignia, The Fuel Consumption of the Opel Insignia and Basic Characteristics of Opel Insignia. These categories prepared for explaining the vehicle from any perspective. Before beginning the review, I would like to share some general information about the history of the Opel Insignia. It is a Large Family Car manufactured by German automaker Opel since 2008. The car is also sold under the Vauxhall, Holden, and Buick brands in various country markets. Although it is not a very old model with its two-generation history, it has already become one of the most important flagships of the Opel brand. The car, first introduced at the 2008 British International Motor Show, was produced at the Rüsselsheim facilities in Germany. One of the most important features of the car is that Insignia is the first car model with new generation safety features produced by the Opel brand. These features include important details such as the Opel Eye.

The Features of the Opel Insignia

In this part of the review, we are going to focus on the features of the Opel Insignia. We can start with the exterior design of the Opel Insignia. When we look at the exterior design of the car, we see a very impressive simplicity. Considering that the Germans are generally quite talented in the field of engineering, they have done a very good study on the Insignia in terms of design. While the lines on the body wrap the car with smooth transitions, the sharp details at the front make the car's characteristic aggressive. Although the new generation Insignia has a much stronger and masculine design compared to the previous generation, it has never lost its dynamism. On the contrary, it looks like a much more active and sportier car. The colour options used on the car also complement the look of the car perfectly on the road and offer a unique design. Now, we are moving on to the interior design of the Opel Insignia. The interior design of the car is inspired by luxury cars and looks quite impressive. The quality of the material used in every detail in the cabin is top notch and it makes you feel this quality. The structure of the seats ergonomically balanced and the cabin area is wide. Thus, Insignia offers an extremely comfortable travel experience. In addition, when we look at the console of the car, we see a simple yet modern layout. While a multimedia screen welcomes us in the upper centre, the air conditioning controls at the bottom are very practical and useful.

The Fuel Consumption of the Opel Insignia

Now, we are going to focus on the fuel consumption of the Opel Insignia. We usually work on popular engine types and making analyses on them by checking details for an efficient fuel consumption analysis. While choosing the right car, you need specific and simple information. That is why we are using this distinction method to make things easier for you. We use two main categories to make a useful distinction such as The Most Economical One and The Most Powerful One. Opel Insignia has got two standard engine varieties such as 1.5 and 1.6 D. We are going to analyse two of them as the most economical and the most powerful one. We can start with the most economical one which is 1.6 D. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1598 cm3 size. It is using a Diesel feed fuel system so we can say that it is a Diesel type engine. It can produce 136 HP and 3500 RPM Torque. According to the official factory data, 1.6 D has got a 5,0lt/100km (which refers to 56 MPG in the UK) mpg performance in Urban usage. However, this fuel consumption rate decreasing to 3,0lt/100km (which refers to 94 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage such as Highways or Long-Distance Trip. When we combine these mpg data, we get a 4,0lt/100km (which refers to 71 MPG in the UK) average mpg performance. Now we will focus on the most powerful engine, which is 1.5. It has got a four cylindered engine structure with a 1490 cm3 size. It is a Petrol Type Engine which produces 166 Horsepower and 250 Nm Torque. 1.5 has got a 7,3lt/100km (which refers to 39 MPG in the UK) fuel consumption in Urban usage. On the other hand, this MPG rate decreasing to 5,2lt/100km (which refers to 54 MPG in the UK) in Extra Urban usage. When we gather these two fuel consumption data, we get a 6,0lt/100km (which refers to 47 MPG in the UK) average fuel consumption data.
